Chapter One: Introduction
1.1 Background of the Study
Political rivalry is a common phenomenon in many democratic systems, including Nigeria, where competition between political parties and candidates often defines the governance process. Katsina LGA in Katsina State provides an interesting case study of how political rivalry influences governance at the local level. Political rivalry in the region has historically led to both positive and negative outcomes.
